How to Get to Playa de las Barcas

Getting to Playa de las Barcas in Sant Vicenç de Montalt is relatively straightforward, whether you're coming from Barcelona city or other nearby towns in the Maresme region. We always recommend planning the journey to avoid setbacks, especially during the high season.

By Car

If we choose the car, the most direct option from Barcelona is to take the C-32 motorway towards Girona/Mataró and take exit 100 (Sant Vicenç de Montalt/Caldes d'Estrac). Once off the motorway, the signs to the beach are clear. The journey usually takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Regarding parking, Sant Vicenç de Montalt has regulated parking zones near the beach, as well as some public car parks, although during the summer months it can be a challenge to find a free spot. Our recommendation is to arrive early to secure a good place or consider using public transport if you don't want to worry about the car.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, the nearest Rodalies train station is Caldes d'Estrac (line R1), which is a short distance from Playa de las Barcas. From Barcelona, we can take the train from stations like Plaça Catalunya, Arc de Triomf or Clot-Aragó. The train ride is very pleasant, offering sea views for much of the journey, and takes approximately 45-50 minutes. Once at Caldes d'Estrac station, the beach is about a 10-15 minute walk away, a stroll that allows us to enjoy the coastal atmosphere of the neighboring town. There are also bus options connecting Sant Vicenç de Montalt with other towns, although the train is usually the most comfortable and fastest option from Barcelona.
