How to get to Playa del Puerco

Getting to Playa del Puerco is relatively easy, making it an accessible destination for everyone. If you come by car, which is the most comfortable and common option for getting around the Chiclana de la Frontera area, the beach is perfectly signposted from the A-390 road and the roads connecting to the Novo Sancti Petri urbanisation. We always advise using a GPS navigator for greater precision, but in general, following the signs to Novo Sancti Petri and then to the beach will take you directly there.

Regarding parking, Playa del Puerco has several designated areas, some of them free and others paid, especially during the high season. Our experience tells us that if you go in the middle of August, it's best to arrive early to secure a good spot. There are also some urban bus lines connecting the centre of Chiclana and other coastal areas with the beach, which can be an interesting option if you prefer to leave the car at home or don't have one. Accessibility is guaranteed, whether you are coming from Cádiz capital or other points in the province.

The sand and the water

The crown jewel of Playa del Puerco is, certainly, its fine golden sand. When we walk on it, we feel under our feet that characteristic softness of the beaches of Cádiz, a sand that seems like gold dust and invites you to take off your shoes and enjoy every step. It's ideal for sunbathing, building sandcastles with the little ones, or simply feeling the contact with nature.

As for the water, we find an Atlantic Ocean that here shows its gentlest version. The waters of Playa del Puerco are generally calm and crystal-clear, with a pleasant temperature during the summer months. They don't usually have strong currents, which makes it especially safe for swimming, even for children and those who don't feel comfortable in rough waters.
