How to Get to Playa Norte

Getting to Playa Norte de Peñíscola is extremely simple, regardless of the means of transport you choose, which is a point in its favor that we always highlight. Its excellent location and the surrounding infrastructure greatly facilitate access, making it a very convenient destination for planning your vacation.

By Car

If you are coming by car, the AP-7 highway is the main route. You should take exit 43 (Peñíscola/Benicarló). Once off the highway, follow the signs to Peñíscola. The N-340 road will also take you to the area, although it is usually slower. Once in the municipality, the beach is unmistakable, as it practically borders the entire urban center. Finding parking can be a challenge during high season, but there are several options:

• Paid public parking: Along the promenade and adjacent streets, there are regulated parking zones (blue or green zones) and several underground parking lots. We always recommend arriving early or considering using these parking lots to avoid frustration.
• Free parking: On the outskirts of the center, especially in the southern area and as you move away from the castle, you can find some free parking areas, although they usually require a longer walk to the beach.

By Public Transport

Peñíscola is well connected by public transport, making it accessible even if you prefer not to drive.

• Bus: Several bus companies offer regular routes to Peñíscola from major Spanish cities. The bus station is a short distance from the center and Playa Norte, facilitating access on foot or by local bus.
• Train: The nearest train station is Benicarló-Peñíscola, located about 7-8 kilometers from the center of Peñíscola. From there, you can take a taxi or an intercity bus that will take you directly to the municipality. The frequency of these buses is good, especially in summer.

On Foot or by Bicycle

If you are already staying in Peñíscola or its surroundings, Playa Norte is perfectly accessible on foot or by bicycle. The promenade, which extends along the entire beach, is ideal for a relaxing walk or for enjoying a pleasant bike ride. We always encourage our visitors to explore the area this way, as it allows for a better appreciation of the surroundings and the beauty of the coastline.

The sand of Playa Norte is, without a doubt, one of its greatest attractions. It is a fine, golden sand, incredibly soft to the touch. For us, there is nothing like walking barefoot on it, feeling it slip between your toes, or lying down to sunbathe without worrying about the discomfort of stones. This characteristic makes it an ideal place for all ages, especially for families with young children, who can play and build sandcastles with total ease and safety. The cleanliness of the sand is also noteworthy; the town council performs constant maintenance to ensure it is always in perfect condition, something we greatly value and that contributes to its Blue Flag distinction.

The type of ground on the beach is predominantly sandy, which guarantees a smooth and gradual entry into the sea, without unexpected surprises. You will not find sharp rocks or annoying pebbles when entering the water, which adds an extra level of comfort and safety to your experience.
