How to Get to Playa del Castillo

Getting to Playa del Castillo is extremely easy, one of the advantages that enhances its appeal. This beach is located in Caleta de Fuste, a well-connected tourist hub on the east coast of Fuerteventura, approximately 10 kilometers from the island's airport and about 12 kilometers from the capital, Puerto del Rosario. We always recommend renting a car to explore the island at our own pace, but in this case, public transport and taxi options are also very efficient.

From Fuerteventura Airport (FUE)

If we arrive by plane, the journey is short and direct. We can take a taxi directly from the terminal, which will cost around 15-20 euros and take about 10-15 minutes. Another option is to use the intercity bus service (line 3), which connects the airport with Caleta de Fuste and Puerto del Rosario. The buses are comfortable and the frequency is good, making it an economical and practical alternative.

By Car

For those who opt for the freedom of a rental car, Playa del Castillo is accessible via the FV-2, the main road running along Fuerteventura's east coast. From Puerto del Rosario, we head south; from Morro Jable, head north. Caleta de Fuste is clearly signposted. Once in the town, we will find numerous signs to the beach and the marina. Parking is usually not a problem, as there are several parking areas nearby, some free and some paid, especially around the marina and the hotel complexes surrounding the cove.

On Foot or by Bicycle

If we are staying in Caleta de Fuste, the beach is easily accessible on foot from most hotels and apartments. The promenade that runs along the coast is ideal for a relaxing stroll or for arriving by bicycle, enjoying the sea views and the mild climate. The proximity to accommodations is a key factor that enhances the comfort of this Antigua beach.

The Sand and Water

The Playa del Castillo experience begins the moment our feet sink into its sand. We can confirm that the sand on this beach is of exceptional quality: fine, golden, and soft, ideal for walking barefoot, building sandcastles, or simply laying out a towel and enjoying the sun. We will not find rocks at the water's edge, making it perfectly safe and comfortable for everyone, especially for young children who can play without worries.

The water is, without a doubt, one of its most notable features. We encounter an exceptionally calm sea, with practically non-existent waves thanks to the protection of the breakwaters that form the bay. The waters are crystal clear and of a turquoise hue that invites a swim. Furthermore, the shallow depth near the shore allows children to play in complete safety and adults to enjoy a refreshing dip without surprises. The water temperature, mild year-round, is another plus that allows us to enjoy a swim in any season. It is a perfect place to try snorkeling for the first time or simply to float and let yourself be carried away by the placid surroundings. The quality of the water and sand are two of the pillars that make Playa del Castillo one of the most valued Fuerteventura beaches.
