How to Get to Playa de la Garita

Getting to Playa de la Garita is relatively easy, making it an accessible destination for everyone. If we're coming from Arrecife or any other point on the island, the most common route is to take the LZ-1 highway heading north, towards the town of Haría. Before reaching the center of the municipality, we'll find signs for the small coastal village of Arrieta, where the beach is located.

Transport

• Rental Car: This is the most comfortable and recommended option for exploring Lanzarote at our own pace. The island has an excellent road network, and the journey to Playa de la Garita is pleasant and well signposted. There are free parking areas nearby, which is a great advantage.
• Bus: Although connections aren't as frequent as in other more touristy areas, we can reach Arrieta by bus (interurban bus lines). Once in Arrieta, the beach is just a few minutes' walk from the village center.
• Taxi: Another option, though more expensive, is to take a taxi from anywhere on the island. It's ideal if we prefer not to drive and want to get directly to our destination without worries.

The Sand and Water

Playa de la Garita surprises us with its unique beauty, characteristic of Lanzarote's volcanic landscape. Here, the sand isn't the typical golden color we often find on other beaches, but rather appears in a dark, almost black tone, with gray hues. This fine, soft sand, of volcanic origin, is incredibly pleasant to the touch and invites us to walk barefoot along the shore, feeling the energy of the earth beneath our feet.

As for the water, it is, without a doubt, one of the beach's greatest attractions. We are met with calm, crystal-clear waters, with a color ranging from turquoise to deep blue.
