How to Get to Cala Cortina

Getting to Cala Cortina is surprisingly simple, one of its great advantages as an urban beach. If you're coming from the center of Cartagena, the drive is short and direct, just about five minutes. We always recommend following the signs to the port and, once there, continuing along the road that borders the coast heading east. The cove is well signposted, so you won't get lost.

By Car

The most comfortable way to access Cala Cortina is undoubtedly by car. The beach has a relatively spacious parking lot right next to it, which makes life much easier, especially during the summer months. Although it can fill up quickly in high season, turnover is usually constant. We advise arriving early if you plan to visit in mid-August or on a weekend to secure a good spot. From the parking lot, access to the sand is practically immediate, via a comfortable ramp, making it ideal for families with strollers or people with reduced mobility.

Public Transport

If you prefer not to use a car, there are also public transport options. Several urban bus lines in Cartagena connect the city center with the vicinity of the beach. Although the stop isn't right on the sand, the walk is short and pleasant, offering panoramic views of the port and coast. Ask for the lines heading towards the Port of Cartagena and, once there, you can walk or take a short taxi ride. For us, accessibility is a key point, and Cala Cortina more than delivers.
