How to get to Kokkini Hani Beach

This means that after landing in Crete, we can be enjoying the sand and sea in a matter of minutes.

By car

If we have opted to rent a car, the route is direct and very comfortable. From Heraklion, we simply need to take the E75 national road heading east. We will see signs for Kokkini Hani clearly marked. The journey takes approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once in the area, we will find several parking options, both on the streets adjacent to the beach and in some private car parks associated with hotels and chiringuitos. We always recommend arriving early during the high season to secure a good spot.

By bus

For those who prefer public transport, the connection is excellent. There are regular buses from the KTEL company that depart from Heraklion's central bus station and head towards the east coast, passing through Kokkini Hani. The buses are modern and air-conditioned, and the journey offers picturesque views of the coast. The frequency is high, especially in summer, which allows us great flexibility in our schedules. It's an economical and ecological option to get to our favourite Heraklion (Crete) beach.

By taxi or private transfer

If we are looking for maximum comfort, a taxi or private transfer service from the airport or Heraklion is an excellent option. Although a bit more expensive, it will take us directly to the entrance of the beach or to our accommodation in the area, without waiting or complications. It's ideal if we are travelling with a lot of luggage or with small children. Whatever our choice, the road to Kokkini Hani Beach is part of the adventure and prepares us for the days of sun and relaxation that await us.
