How to Get to Playa de Fokos

Getting to Playa de Fokos is part of the adventure and contributes to its 'wild' beach charm. We always recommend renting a vehicle (car, motorbike, or quad), as public transport does not go directly there. From Mykonos Town (Chora), the journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes. The route takes us inland, passing through Ano Mera, and then turns north. The last part of the road is a dirt track, somewhat narrow and winding, which can be challenging but adds a touch of exploration. It's important to drive carefully. There is signage, although discreet, to guide us. At the end, we'll find an unpaved parking area where to leave the vehicle before taking the final steps to the shore. The reward is the stunning view and the tranquility that awaits us at this Mykonos beach.

There are no lifeguards, public showers, or organized sports areas. The parking is an unpaved dirt area. We always recommend bringing our own towel, sunscreen, water, and any other essentials. This lack of massive infrastructure allows Playa de Fokos to maintain its tranquil atmosphere and its beauty intact.

Best Time to Visit

• High Season (July and August): Mykonos is at its peak. Fokos may receive more visitors, especially around lunchtime. We recommend arriving early to secure a good spot.
• Mid-Season (May, June, September): This is, in our opinion, the ideal time. The weather is splendid, with pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds. In May and early June, the island is in bloom. September offers warm waters and a more relaxed atmosphere. It's the perfect time to experience the true essence of this Mykonos beach without the hustle and bustle.
• Low Season (April, October): For maximum tranquility, these months are excellent if you don't mind some services being closed or the water being cooler. Taverna Fokos may have reduced hours. The landscape is still beautiful and the opportunity to have the beach almost to yourself is unmatched.
