Most visitors choose to book organized boat tours departing from Vlora or nearby Orikum. These tours usually include several stops at coves and beaches along the peninsula, with Playa de Karaburun being one of the highlights. Boats range from small speedboats to larger vessels with group capacity. The journey time from Vlora can be about an hour or more, depending on the type of boat and intermediate stops. It is important to book in advance, especially during the high season, to secure your spot.

Land Access (limited and not recommended for the main beach)

Although the Karaburun Peninsula has some dirt tracks leading to certain points, access to the main and most attractive beaches like Playa de Karaburun is extremely limited and, in many cases, restricted. Much of the interior of the peninsula is military terrain or difficult to traverse. We advise against attempting land access unless you have a suitable 4x4 vehicle, off-road driving experience, and know the exact and permitted routes. Even then, the reward of reaching the beach by land is minimal compared to the beauty of the maritime access. The sea route is not only safer and more comfortable, but also offers the best perspective of the stunning coastal geography.

Playa de Karaburun and the adjacent coves of the peninsula are characterized by having a mixed type of ground. In some sections, you will find a mixture of coarse sand and pebbles, while other coves may be predominantly white pebbles or small stones polished by the sea. This mosaic of textures underfoot gives it a rustic and natural character, very different from fine, uniform sandy beaches. The presence of pebbles contributes to the water's transparency, as it does not stir up as much sediment as purely sandy beaches. We recommend bringing suitable water footwear if you plan to walk along the shore or explore the rocky areas.
