How to Get to Playa Flamingo

The beach is conveniently located on the southern coast of Vlora, in the area known as Radhime, which is part of the scenic road descending towards the Albanian Riviera. This makes it very accessible and an excellent starting point for exploring other wonders of the region.

By Car

Undoubtedly, the most comfortable and flexible way to get to Playa Flamingo is by car. From the center of Vlora, the journey usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on traffic. We must take the SH8 road, which runs along the coast and offers spectacular views of the Ionian Sea. Signage is generally clear, and there are several access points to the beach with parking available, often managed by the local 'chiringuitos' or restaurants. It is important to consider that, in high season, parking can fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early if we want to secure a good spot. Renting a car in Albania is an excellent option if we plan to explore the region at our own pace, and rates are usually reasonable.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer not to drive, there are public transport options. From the Vlora bus station (or main stops in the city), we can take a 'furgon' (local minibus) or a bus heading to Radhime or Orikum. These usually run quite frequently during the day, especially in the summer months. It is advisable to ask locals or the driver if the bus passes near 'Playa Flamingo' or if there is a convenient stop. This combination, although it can be a bit rougher on bare feet than fine sand, has its advantages: the water remains incredibly clear, as sediments are not easily stirred up, and the pebbles do not stick to the skin and clothes like fine sand does. The Water Quality

However, the true gem of Playa Flamingo is its waters. Bathed by the Ionian Sea, they are of astonishing clarity, with shades ranging from turquoise blue at the shore to a deep indigo in the distance. The water quality is excellent, inviting long swims and water activities. Underwater visibility is fantastic, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling, even close to the shore. The water temperature in the summer months is pleasantly warm, perfect for cooling off from the Albanian sun.
