How to Get to Playa de Dubovica

Getting to Playa de Dubovica is part of the adventure and charm that surrounds it. The beach is located about 8 kilometers east of Hvar Town, following the main road that crosses the island.

By Car

If we are coming from Hvar Town, we will take the D116 road heading east. After a few minutes of travel, we will see a sign (sometimes quite discreet) indicating 'Dubovica'. It is crucial to pay attention, as the entrance to the parking area is not very large. Parking is usually limited and, especially in high season, can fill up quickly. There is often a small fee for parking. Once we have parked the car, a 5-10 minute walk awaits us down a steep and rocky path that descends to the beach. We recommend wearing comfortable and suitable footwear for this type of terrain, as thin sandals can be uncomfortable. This small trek is, in itself, a memorable part of the visit, offering spectacular views of the Adriatic as we descend.

By Boat or Water Taxi

A very popular and comfortable option, especially for those staying in Hvar Town or its surroundings, is to reach Playa de Dubovica by boat. Numerous boat rental companies in Hvar Town offer the possibility of renting a boat (with or without a skipper) to explore the nearby coves, and Dubovica is a mandatory stop. We can also find water taxi services that will drop us off directly on the shore, eliminating the need to search for parking and the descent via the path. This mode allows us to fully enjoy the maritime landscape and the convenience of direct access to the sea.
