How to Get to Playa de Espasante

If we come from Ferrol or A Coruña, the most common route is to take the AC-862, a road that winds along the coast and leads us directly to the village of Espasante. Once in the village, the beach is easily accessible and well signposted.

We always appreciate easy access, and in Espasante, this is a reality. The beach is integrated into the village, making it easy to reach on foot if we are staying nearby. For those coming by car, we find parking available nearby, which, although it may be busier in the height of summer, generally does not present major problems. The proximity of the parking to the sand is a plus, especially if we are loaded with chairs, coolers, and all the beach gear.

We also find showers to rinse off the salt and sand after a swim, and public toilets/WCs, an indispensable service. The presence of chiringuitos right on the beach or very close by allows us to enjoy a refreshment, an ice cream, or even a light meal without having to stray too far from the sand. The nearby parking, as we already mentioned, is another point in its favor. It is a beach that, year after year, flies the Blue Flag, a distinction that certifies the quality of its waters, environmental management, and the excellence of its services, something that makes us proud and gives us confidence.

The best time to visit the beach if we are looking for sun, warmth, and to fully enjoy all the services is undoubtedly summer, especially the months of July and August. This is when the weather is warmest, the water is at its most pleasant temperature, and all the chiringuitos and lifeguard services are operational. However, it is also the busiest time, although Espasante never becomes as overwhelming as other more urban beaches.

Spring and Autumn: Peace and Nature

If what we seek is tranquility, long walks along the shore, and enjoying the beauty of the landscape without crowds, spring and autumn are wonderful seasons. The colors change, the light is different, and the beach takes on a wilder, more melancholic air, perfect for photographers and nature lovers. Temperatures can be cool, but a good coat and the sea breeze will revitalize us.
