We, as experts in Spanish beach tourism, have had the pleasure of visiting Estorde on numerous occasions and have always been captivated by its serene atmosphere and discreet charm. This semi-circular cove is a true refuge, protected from the prevailing winds and bathed by crystal-clear waters that invite swimming and carefree enjoyment. It is the perfect place to disconnect, for children to play safely, and for adults to be enveloped by the calm that only Galician nature can offer. It is, without a doubt, one of the best beaches in Cee for those who appreciate unadorned beauty.

How to Get to Playa de Estorde

Getting to Playa de Estorde is relatively straightforward, although it requires your own vehicle for greater convenience, as is often the case with many of the most charming coves on the Costa da Morte. From Cee, the journey is short, just a few minutes by car on the AC-445 road towards Fisterra. We will see signs directing us to the beach, which will guide us along a small local road to a parking area close to the sand.

From A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela

If we are coming from A Coruña or Santiago de Compostela, the journey is a bit longer, but equally rewarding. From A Coruña, we will take the AG-55 towards Carballo and then the AC-552 towards Cee. The trip takes approximately an hour and a half. From Santiago, the most direct route is via the AG-56 and then the AC-543 to Negreira, then connecting with the AC-546 and finally the AC-552 towards Cee. Both routes allow us to enjoy the changing landscapes of inland Galicia, dotted with green meadows and charming small towns.

Parking

One of the advantages of Estorde is that it has a relatively easy parking area. Although it is not a huge parking lot, there is usually enough space, even in high season, because the beach, although popular, is not usually as crowded as other larger ones. This helps maintain that atmosphere of tranquility that we value so much on this beach.

The Sand and the Water

Playa de Estorde is a delight for the senses, and much of its charm lies in the quality of its sand and the purity of its waters. The sand is fine, of a light golden hue that invites walking barefoot and building sandcastles with the little ones. It is soft to the touch and extends along its 250 meters in length, offering a comfortable space to lay out a towel and enjoy the sun.

The waters of Estorde are, without exaggeration, spectacular. They are usually very calm, thanks to the configuration of the cove which shelters it from the larger Atlantic waves. The transparency is such that we can easily see the seabed, and the color ranges between turquoise blues and emerald greens, creating a beautiful contrast with the sand. The water temperature, although Atlantic, is generally milder than at other beaches on the Costa da Morte, making it an ideal place for a refreshing and prolonged swim. It is this combination of fine sand and serene waters that classifies it as one of the most attractive beaches in Cee for swimming.

• Lifeguards: During the bathing season, the beach has a lifeguard service, which provides great peace of mind, especially for families with children. Safety is a priority in Estorde.
• Showers and Toilets/WC: We will find showers to rinse off the salt and sand before leaving, as well as restroom facilities, essential elements for a comfortable day at the beach.
• Chiringuito: In the summer months, a small chiringuito or beach kiosk is usually set up where we can refresh ourselves with a cold drink, have an ice cream, or even have a light snack. It's the perfect touch so we don't have to leave the beach if we get hungry.
• Parking: As already mentioned, it has a nearby parking area, which facilitates access and avoids long walks with all the beach gear.

Best Time to Visit

The choice of the best time to visit Playa de Estorde will largely depend on our priorities and what we are looking for in our beach experience. We, as lovers of Galicia, know that each season has its particular charm.
