How to Get to Playa de Lourido

Getting to Playa de Lourido is part of the adventure and, fortunately, it's quite straightforward if traveling by car, which is the most recommended option for exploring this area of Galicia with total freedom. From A Coruña, the journey will take approximately one hour and twenty minutes, following the AG-55 motorway towards Carballo and then the AC-552 towards Cee, finally turning off towards Muxía via the AC-440. If starting from Santiago de Compostela, the trip is similar in duration, taking the AG-56 motorway and then the AC-543 to Negreira, before connecting with the AC-546 and AC-440 towards Muxía. Once in the vicinity of Muxía, you'll find clear signs to the beach.

Access and Parking

Playa de Lourido has relatively easy access. Generally, there are designated areas to park your car near the beach, although it's an unpaved parking lot and its capacity can be limited on high-traffic days during peak season. Our recommendation is to arrive early if visiting the beach in the height of summer to secure a good spot. From the parking area, a short path will lead you directly to the sand. It's important to remember that, although access is simple, it doesn't have infrastructure adapted for people with reduced mobility, which we should consider if traveling with someone who needs it. The experience of driving along the Costa da Morte, with its dramatic landscapes and small fishing villages, is in itself an unforgettable part of the journey, preparing us for the beauty that awaits us in Lourido.
