How to Get to Playa de las Ventanicas

Getting to Playa de las Ventanicas is relatively straightforward, as it is perfectly integrated into the layout of Mojácar Playa, in the province of Almería. If we're coming from inland or other provinces, the most common way is via the A-7 motorway. Once we take the exit towards Mojácar (usually exit 520 if coming from Murcia/Cartagena or exits 520-525 if coming from Almería city), we follow the signs to Mojácar Playa. The beach is part of Mojácar's long coastal strip and is well signposted.

By Car

This is the most comfortable option for most visitors. Playa de las Ventanicas has nearby parking areas, both on the seafront promenade itself and on adjacent streets. Although in high season it can be a bit more challenging to find parking right on the front line, there are always options a short distance away. We recommend arriving early in the morning to secure a good spot and avoid crowds. The access roads are in excellent condition and the signage is clear.

By Public Transport

Mojácar has an urban bus service that connects the old town (Mojácar Pueblo) with the beach area (Mojácar Playa), covering much of the coastline. There are several conveniently located stops along the avenue that runs parallel to Playa de las Ventanicas. It's an excellent option if we're staying in Mojácar and don't want to worry about the car. Furthermore, there are intercity bus lines connecting Mojácar with nearby towns like Garrucha, Vera, and even with the main bus station in Almería city, facilitating access for those who prefer not to drive.

The Sand and Water

When we step onto Playa de las Ventanicas, the first thing that captivates us is its fine, golden sand. It's the kind of sand that slips between your toes with a delicious softness, perfect for building sandcastles with the little ones or simply for spreading out our towel and enjoying the sun. The quality of the sand is one of its great attractions, contributing to the feeling of cleanliness and well-being that emanates from the entire beach. We won't find annoying rocks when walking along the shore, making it very comfortable for everyone.

And what can we say about the water... The waters of Playa de las Ventanicas are, in our opinion, one of its greatest treasures. They present an inviting turquoise blue color and, more importantly, are usually calm and crystal clear. This characteristic makes it an ideal place for safe swimming, especially for children and those who don't feel comfortable with strong waves. The entry into the sea is gentle and gradual, without significant drops or sudden changes in depth, which adds an extra layer of safety and comfort. Furthermore, the water's transparency allows us to observe small fish and the seabed, turning the simple act of bathing into a more enriching experience. The Blue Flag that flies proudly on this beach confirms the excellent quality of its waters and services.

• Full Accessibility: We are pleased to see the commitment to accessibility. The beach has access walkways that reach the sand, facilitating transit for people with reduced mobility and baby strollers. Additionally, it usually has amphibious chairs and support staff for assisted bathing, making this an inclusive beach for everyone. This is a big plus for us.
• Showers and Foot Washers: Essential for washing off sand and salt before heading home or going to eat. They are distributed along the beach and are kept clean and in good condition.
• Restrooms/WC: Fundamental for a prolonged stay at the beach. Public toilets are available and checked regularly.
