How to get to Playa de Toranda

Getting to Playa de Toranda is relatively easy, although as with many beaches in Llanes, the final access requires a bit of attention and planning, especially in high season. We usually opt for the AS-263 road, which connects Llanes with Ribadesella, a scenic route that already gifts us the first spectacular views of the Asturian landscape. From the center of Llanes, we will head west towards Niembro and Barro, following the signs that will guide us towards the coast.

Access by car

If we come by car, the best option is to take the exit towards Niembro and, once there, follow the signs to the beach. The local road that takes us directly to Toranda is narrow in some sections, but it is well paved. Upon arrival, we will find a designated parking area, although it is important to emphasize that in the months of July and August, and especially on weekends, it fills up easily. Our recommendation is to arrive early to secure a spot. From the parking lot, a short walk separates us from the sand, an accessible and comfortable path for most visitors.

Public transport and other options

Although the car is the most comfortable option, we can also consider other alternatives. During the summer, some interurban bus lines have stops near the beaches in the area, although they do not always reach the very entrance of Toranda. Another option, if we are staying in the surroundings of Niembro or Barro, is to make the journey on foot, enjoying a pleasant walk along the rural paths. For the more adventurous, the bicycle is an excellent way to explore the coast and reach the beach, although the characteristic slopes of the Asturian terrain must be considered.
