How to Get to Playa de Vega
Getting to Playa de Vega is relatively straightforward, although we must consider that, being a natural environment, the final access can be a bit more rustic than that of urban beaches. If we come by car, which is the most comfortable and common option, the most direct route is usually from Ribadesella. From the center of Ribadesella, we will take the AS-260 road towards Arriondas, but we will soon turn off onto the AS-261 towards the coast, following the signs that will lead us directly to the beach. The journey is short, about 10-15 minutes by car, and offers us wonderful views of the Asturian rural landscape.
Once we approach the beach, we will find several parking areas. In high season, especially during summer weekends, these areas can fill up quickly, so it is advisable to arrive early if we want to secure a good spot. The parking is usually spacious, although not always fully paved, and from there, a short walk will lead us directly to the sandy beach. It is important to remember that we are in a protected natural space, so we must respect the designated parking areas and avoid parking on the dunes or in places that could damage the ecosystem. There is no regular public transport service that goes directly to the beach, so the car or bicycle are the best options to enjoy the freedom of schedule and movement that this paradise offers us.
