From the moment we set foot on Cala Blanca, in the heart of the west coast of Menorca, we know we've found a special place. It's one of those Balearic beaches that, despite its popularity, manages to maintain an air of serenity, inviting us to completely disconnect from the daily hustle and bustle.

We, as beach tourism experts, always look for those corners that perfectly combine the comfort of services with the magic of the surroundings. And Cala Blanca more than delivers. Its immaculate white sand, its turquoise and transparent waters, and the gentle sea breeze that caresses the pine trees flanking it, create an idyllic atmosphere. It's the perfect destination for those longing for a relaxing holiday, especially if traveling with family, seeking safety and fun for the little ones in a beautiful setting.

How to Get to Cala Blanca

Getting to Cala Blanca beach is extremely simple, making it a very accessible option for any visitor to Menorca. If we're coming from Ciutadella, the journey by car is just 10-15 minutes, following the road heading south. The signage is clear and will guide us without problems to this wonderful cove. There's no need to worry about parking, as there are usually several free parking areas nearby, although in the middle of August we might have to search a bit more or arrive early.

For those who prefer not to drive, there are very efficient public transport options. Several bus lines connect Ciutadella with the Cala Blanca urbanisation, with stops very close to the beach. It's an excellent alternative, especially if we're staying in the centre of Ciutadella or in one of the neighbouring urbanisations. Furthermore, if we're staying in the hotels and apartments of the Cala Blanca urbanisation itself, the beach is a short and pleasant walk away, allowing us to enjoy the surroundings from the very first moment.

The Sand and the Water

The first thing that catches our attention when stepping onto Cala Blanca is its sand. It's fine and soft sand, of an almost white colour, which contrasts beautifully with the vibrant turquoise blue of the sea. It's the ideal type of sand for building castles, walking barefoot, or simply lying down to sunbathe, feeling its pleasant texture under our feet. This characteristic makes it especially attractive for families, as children can play with total freedom and safety.

But if the sand is a delight, the water is simply spectacular. The waters of Cala Blanca are incredibly transparent and calm, forming a natural shallow pool that extends several metres from the shore. This characteristic makes it a perfect place for the little ones to splash around without danger, and for adults to relax swimming in a calm sea. The water temperature, especially in the summer months, is very pleasant, inviting us to one refreshing swim after another. The clarity of the water also makes it ideal for snorkelling along the rocky edges, where we can discover the rich marine life of the Mediterranean.

Being a semi-urban beach, it has everything needed to spend a perfect day without worries. The proximity of the urbanisation also means there are restaurants and shops just a few steps away, in case we need anything else.

Among the most valued services, we highlight the presence of lifeguards during the high season, which provides great peace of mind, especially for families. We also have showers to wash off the sand and salt before returning to our accommodation, and clean and well-maintained toilets/WCs. For those seeking maximum comfort, there is a sunbed and umbrella rental service, allowing us to relax without having to carry our own equipment. Best Time to Visit

Although Cala Blanca is beautiful for much of the year, there are times that, from our perspective, are ideal for enjoying it to the fullest. We highly recommend visiting in late spring (May and early June) or early autumn (September and October). During these months, the climate in Menorca is simply perfect: temperatures are warm but not stifling, the days are long, and the sea is already warm enough for a pleasant swim.

The great advantage of these seasons is the lower influx of tourists. We can enjoy the beach with much more tranquillity, find parking without difficulty, and feel like we have a little piece of paradise almost to ourselves. Accommodation and flight prices are also usually more attractive. If, on the other hand, we are among those who prefer the bustle and vibrant atmosphere of summer, July and August are the months of greatest activity. The beach will be more crowded, the chiringuitos at full capacity, and the atmosphere more festive. In any case, the beauty of Cala Blanca always awaits us, adapting to our pace and preferences.
