Introduction
Sun and sea lovers, welcome to one of our favorite spots on the Balearic beaches! Today we're taking you by the hand to discover the wonderful Playa de Camp de Mar, a true hidden treasure in the municipality of Andratx, in the southwest of the island of Mallorca. This cove, of undeniable beauty, has stolen our hearts with its tranquil atmosphere, its hypnotic turquoise blue waters, and the comfort of its services, making it perfect for all types of travelers, especially for families seeking a refuge of peace and fun.
Playa de Camp de Mar is much more than just a sandy beach; it's a destination where nature meets comfort. Surrounded by a typically Mallorcan Mediterranean landscape, with pine trees almost touching the sea and small hills that protect it, this beach offers us an idyllic postcard. Its fine, golden sand invites us to lie down and forget the clock, while its calm, crystal-clear waters are a delight for swimming and cooling off. It is, without a doubt, one of those beaches one always wishes to revisit.
How to Get to Playa de Camp de Mar
Getting to Playa de Camp de Mar is relatively easy, and the options are varied, depending on our preference and starting point. If we're coming from Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), the drive takes approximately 35-45 minutes, taking the Ma-1 towards Andratx and then following the signs to Camp de Mar. We always recommend renting a car for total freedom and to explore the surroundings, but there are other alternatives.
By Car
This is the most comfortable option. From Palma, we take the Ma-1 highway. The exit to Camp de Mar is well signposted. Once in the village, we'll find several parking areas, some paid and some free, although the latter tend to fill up quickly in high season. The beach has a nearby Parking lot, which is a great advantage.
By Bus
For those who prefer not to drive, the TIB bus line (Transport de les Illes Balears) connects Palma with Camp de Mar. Line 102 (Palma-Peguera-Andratx-Camp de Mar) has regular stops that leave us just a few meters from the beach. It's an economical and sustainable option, ideal for enjoying the scenery without worries.
Taxi or Private Transfer
If we're looking for maximum comfort, especially if traveling with a lot of luggage or with small children, a taxi or private transfer service from the airport or any other point on the island is an excellent alternative. Although more expensive, it guarantees a direct trip with no waiting.
The Sand and Water
Playa de Camp de Mar is famous for its fine, golden sand, which stretches for about 180 meters. When we step on it, we notice its softness, making it ideal for walking barefoot and for the little ones to play and build sandcastles without any problems. The predominant type of ground is, as expected, sand, which ensures a smooth and pleasant entry into the sea, without rocks or pebbles that could bother us.
But if there's something we love about this beach, it's its waters. What a marvel! They are an intense turquoise blue color, so transparent that we can see the seabed with total clarity. The calm of its waters, protected by the shape of the cove, makes it a safe and perfect place for bathing, even for less experienced swimmers. It's a real pleasure to dive in and feel the freshness of the Mediterranean. Furthermore, the quality of its waters and services is recognized with the Blue Flag, a distinction that gives us the peace of mind of knowing we are in a place of excellence.
