How to Get to Playa de Cavaió

Getting to Playa de Cavaió is a simple and comfortable task, given its excellent location and the good transport connections offered by Canet de Mar. We always recommend planning the journey in advance, especially if visiting the beach during high season, to ensure a stress-free arrival and allow us to fully dedicate ourselves to enjoyment.

By Private Car

If we choose the car, the main artery that will take us to Canet de Mar is the C-32 Motorway. Coming from Barcelona or the south, we will take the exit corresponding to Canet de Mar. The signage from the motorway exit to the town center and the promenade is clear and will guide us without difficulty. Once in Canet, Playa de Cavaió stretches along the coastline, and we will find various parking options on the streets adjacent to the promenade. It's important to consider that, being an urban and very popular beach, parking can be limited and paid (blue zone) during the summer months. Our suggestion is to arrive early in the morning, especially on weekends, to secure a good spot and avoid unnecessary circling. There are also paid underground car parks that offer greater comfort.

By Public Transport: The Train is Our Best Option

For those who prefer to leave the car at home and avoid parking worries, the train is, without a doubt, the most efficient and pleasant option. Canet de Mar has a railway station integrated into the R1 line of Rodalies de Catalunya. This line connects directly with Barcelona (from central stations like Plaça de Catalunya or Estació de Sants) and with other towns on the Maresme coast and the Costa Brava. The train frequency is good and the journey offers us spectacular views of the Mediterranean. Once at Canet de Mar station, Playa de Cavaió is just a 5-10 minute walk away. The walk from the station to the sand is flat, accessible, and very pleasant, allowing us to already feel the sea breeze and the coastal atmosphere of the town. It's the most ecological and relaxed way to reach our beach destination.

By Bus

There are also interurban bus lines connecting Canet de Mar with nearby municipalities and other inland towns. While it may not be the most direct option from Barcelona, it can be a useful alternative if we are coming from neighboring towns that do not have a direct connection to the R1 train line. Bus stops are usually in the town center, also a short distance from the beach.

Access on Foot or by Bicycle

For residents or those staying in Canet de Mar, the beach is easily accessible on foot from any point in the municipality. Furthermore, the Maresme coast has bike lanes and promenades connecting the different towns, making the bicycle an excellent option to reach Playa de Cavaió if we are in a nearby locality. It's a healthy and fun way to explore the coastline before a refreshing dip.
