How to Get to Playa de Plentzia

Getting to Playa de Plentzia is surprisingly simple, one of its great advantages. Its excellent connection with Bilbao and other points in Bizkaia makes it a very accessible destination, whether we opt for private or public transport.

By Car

If we come by car from Bilbao, the route is clear and well signposted. We can take the BI-634 or the BI-2122, which will take us directly to Plentzia. The journey usually takes about 25-35 minutes, depending on traffic. Once in the municipality, we will find several parking options. It's important to consider that, during the high season (especially in the summer months), many of these car parks are paid and can fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. There are regulated parking zones (OTA) and designated car parks near the beach, facilitating access on foot in just a few minutes.

By Public Transport

For us, one of the most comfortable and sustainable ways to get there is by Metro Bilbao. Line 1 has its final stop precisely in Plentzia, leaving us a short and pleasant walk from the beach and the town center. The metro frequency is good and the journey from central Bilbao is an experience in itself, passing through urban and natural landscapes. In addition to the metro, there are several intercity bus lines (Bizkaibus) connecting Plentzia with other towns in the region and with Bilbao, offering a flexible alternative for those who prefer this means of transport. The bus station is also a short distance from the beach.
