Today, we embark on a virtual journey to the Black Sea coast to present to you Playa de Nesebar, a destination that perfectly combines ancient history with the charm of a summer paradise. Located in the province of Burgas, Bulgaria, this beach is not just a place to sunbathe, but a gateway to an unparalleled cultural heritage.

Playa de Nesebar is a canvas of golden sand that stretches majestically, flanked by the gentle waves of the Black Sea and framed by the unmistakable silhouette of the old town of Nesebar, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its atmosphere is a captivating mix of tranquility and liveliness, offering an idyllic refuge for those seeking relaxation, family fun, or simply a picturesque setting for their vacation. How to Get to Playa de Nesebar

Getting to Playa de Nesebar is relatively straightforward, given its popularity as a tourist destination in Bulgaria. The most common way to access it is through Burgas Airport (BOJ), which is about 25-30 kilometers away. This airport receives flights from numerous European cities, especially during the peak summer season. Once at the airport, we have several options to reach our destination:

• Taxi: This is the most comfortable and fastest option. Taxis are available at the terminal, and the journey usually takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.
• Bus: There is a regular bus service connecting Burgas Airport with the bus stations of Sunny Beach and Nesebar. It is an economical option, although it may take longer due to stops.
• Private Transfer: Many travel agencies and hotels offer private transfer services, which can be a good option if we are traveling in a group or with a lot of luggage.
• Rental Car: Renting a car gives us the freedom to explore the region at our own pace. Major car rental companies operate at Burgas Airport.

Once in Nesebar, the main beach, known as South Beach, is easily accessible on foot from most accommodations in the new part of the city. If we are staying in the old town, a short walk or a local bus will take us directly to the shore. The area's infrastructure is very tourism-oriented, which greatly facilitates travel.

The Sand and Water

Playa de Nesebar welcomes us with fine, golden sand that stretches for approximately 1500 meters. Walking barefoot, we notice its softness under our feet, a characteristic that makes it exceptionally pleasant for strolling, building sandcastles, or simply relaxing in the sun. The ground type is predominantly sand, which ensures a smooth and safe entry into the sea, ideal for all ages.

The waters of the Black Sea in this area are generally calm and shallow in the first few meters, creating a safe environment for swimmers, especially for the little ones. Water cleanliness is a strong point of Playa de Nesebar, which has been awarded the Blue Flag, a distinction that certifies the quality of its waters, environmental management, safety, and services. This gives us additional peace of mind when immersing ourselves in its refreshing waves. The water temperature during the summer months is very pleasant, often exceeding 20-24°C, inviting long swims and full enjoyment of the marine atmosphere.

Services and Facilities

Playa de Nesebar is an example of how a beach can be perfectly equipped to meet all the needs of its visitors. We, as tourism professionals, greatly value the availability of services that facilitate a comfortable and pleasant stay. Here we find a wide range of facilities:

• Showers: Essential for removing sand and salt after a swim.
• Parking: Several parking areas in the vicinity, some paid, for those arriving by car.
• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: Along the beach and in its immediate surroundings, there is a wide range of chiringuitos where we can enjoy refreshments, ice cream, snacks, or more elaborate meals with sea views. Nearby restaurants offer local and international cuisine.
• Lifeguards: During the high season, the beach has lifeguard posts and qualified personnel who ensure the safety of swimmers, which gives us great peace of mind.
• Sunbeds and Umbrellas: Available for rent, allowing us to enjoy the sun in total comfort and protection.
• Restrooms/Toilets: Clean and accessible facilities for visitors.
• Equipment Rental: We can rent jet skis, kayaks, paddle surfboards, and other water sports equipment.
• Children's Area: Play areas dedicated to children, with swings and slides, which delight the little ones.

Although the beach does not have full certified accessibility for people with reduced mobility at all points, we do find adapted access in some areas and ramps that facilitate transit. Regarding the 'dogs allowed' policy, as is usual on tourist beaches with a Blue Flag, pets are generally not allowed on the sand during the high season to maintain hygiene and order.
