How to get to Playa de la Barrosa

Getting to Playa de la Barrosa is relatively easy, which contributes to its popularity. If we come by car, the main access roads are the A-48 motorway, which connects with the A-4 from Jerez or the A-7 from Málaga, and from Chiclana centre, the A-390 and A-3901 roads take us directly to the coast. It is important to consider that, especially in high season, traffic can be heavy and parking a challenge.

For parking, we find several options. Along the urbanisations flanking the beach, there are regulated parking zones (ORA) and some paid public car parks which are a good alternative to secure a spot. There are also free parking areas, although they are usually further from the beachfront and fill up quickly. If we prefer public transport, several urban bus lines operate from the centre of Chiclana de la Frontera, connecting to the different 'pistas' (access points) of the beach, offering a comfortable and eco-friendly option to get there without worries. We recommend checking the summer timetables, as frequency usually increases.

The sand and the water

It has wooden walkways leading to the sand, access ramps, and in some areas, even adapted bathing points with amphibious chairs and support staff for people with reduced mobility, which we consider an exemplary commitment to inclusion.
• Showers and Toilets/WCs: We find numerous showers and foot-washing points scattered along the beach, ideal for removing sand and salt. There are also public toilet modules, which are usually clean and well-maintained.
• Sunbed and Umbrella Rental: For those who prefer to travel light or simply enjoy an extra level of comfort, there are sunbed and umbrella rental points, allowing you to relax without worries under the Cádiz sun.
• 'Chiringuitos' and Restaurants: The gastronomic offer is varied and abundant. Dozens of 'chiringuitos' and restaurants line the promenade and beachfront, offering everything from classic 'pescaíto frito' and fresh seafood to rice dishes and international cuisine.
