How to Get to Playa de Palmones

If we come by car, the most comfortable option is to take the A-7 motorway (Mediterranean Motorway) and turn off at the exit indicating 'Palmones'. The beach is very well signposted once we enter the urban center. We have several free parking areas, especially along the promenade, although during the high season months it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot early in the morning.

For those who prefer public transport, there are intercity bus lines connecting Palmones with nearby towns like Algeciras and La Línea de la Concepción. From these cities, one can access the long-distance bus network or even the Algeciras train station. The proximity to the A-7 also facilitates access from Malaga or Jerez, making Playa de Palmones an ideal destination for a weekend getaway or a longer vacation.

For us, the best time to visit this Los Barrios beach is undoubtedly spring (April, May, and June) and early autumn (September and October). During these months, the climate is exquisite, with mild temperatures inviting for swimming and walking along the shore without the intense summer heat. The number of visitors is lower than in July and August, allowing us to enjoy greater tranquility and find parking easily.
