How to Get to Playa de Pozo Negro

Although it is not on one of the most frequented routes, access is relatively easy and well-signposted, especially if we are coming from the municipality of Antigua or from the FV-2, the main road that runs through the island. We recommend taking the turnoff on the FV-2 towards Caleta de Fuste if coming from the south, or past Caleta de Fuste if coming from the north, and then following the signs to Pozo Negro via the FV-4. The road that leads directly to the village is the FV-520, an asphalted road that winds through the volcanic landscape, offering us spectacular views of the rural Majorero environment.

Once we approach the village of Pozo Negro, we will notice the pace slows down and the atmosphere becomes more authentic. Access to the beach is direct from the urban center itself. There is no need to walk long distances or navigate complicated paths. We can park our vehicle without difficulty in the vicinity of the village, as there are several designated areas for parking just a few meters from the shore. However, this does not mean we are deprived of the essentials. Being nestled in a village, we have the services that the urban center itself offers. We find free parking that is relatively easy to find on the streets near the beach, which is a great advantage. Furthermore, the village of Pozo Negro is famous for its small, cozy restaurants specializing in fresh fish. Here we can taste the delights of the sea freshly caught, a gastronomic experience that perfectly complements a day at the beach. These establishments usually have bathrooms/WCs which, although not public and directly on the beach, are available to us if we are customers. The absence of lifeguards on the beach is a point to consider, so we must always exercise extreme caution, especially if we are
