How to Get to Playa de Ojos de Garza

Getting to Playa de Ojos de Garza is relatively easy, and its strategic location in the municipality of Telde, near Gran Canaria Airport, facilitates access from any point on the island. We, as island experts, always recommend several options to suit each traveler's preferences.

By Car

The most comfortable and flexible way to get there is, without a doubt, by car. From Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, we take the GC-1 motorway heading south. The exit we need to look for is Ojos de Garza, which is very close to the airport. Once we've taken the exit, the signs will guide us directly to the small urban area and the beach zone. The journey from the capital usually takes about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. If we're coming from the south of the island, for example, from Maspalomas or Playa del Inglés, we also take the GC-1, but heading north, and the exit will similarly be Ojos de Garza. The estimated time from the south is around 25-30 minutes. Regarding parking, being a residential area, we will find free parking spaces on the streets surrounding the beach. Although there is no exclusive, large parking lot, availability is usually good, especially outside of peak hours on summer weekends.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, the Global bus (guagua) line number 11 connects Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with the Ojos de Garza neighborhood. This line makes stops at strategic points and will leave us at a comfortable walking distance to the beach. It's important to check the updated schedules on the Global website (guaguasglobal.com), as they can vary depending on the season and day of the week. Although it's a viable option, we must consider that the frequency might be lower compared to other more heavily trafficked routes. From other points on the island, we will likely need to transfer at the Telde bus station or the San Telmo station in Las Palmas.
