How to Get to Playa de Calahonda

Getting to Playa de Calahonda is really simple, which contributes to its popularity and ease of enjoyment. For us, comfortable access is a key factor when planning a beach getaway, and for this reason, Calahonda more than delivers. If we come by car, the main access route is the Mediterranean Highway, the A-7. We must take the exit towards Calahonda/Carchuna, and once there, the signs will guide us directly to the beach area. The road infrastructure is modern and in good condition, ensuring a hassle-free trip from any point in the province or even from nearby regions like Malaga or Almeria.

Once in Calahonda, finding parking is usually relatively easy, especially outside the peak season months. There are several parking areas, both free and paid, along the promenade and in the streets adjacent to the beach. It's true that in the middle of August or during summer weekends, it can be a bit more difficult, but with a little patience, we always find a spot. We always recommend arriving early in the morning to secure the best spots and avoid crowds.

For those who prefer public transport, there are also options. From Motril, the municipal capital, there are regular bus lines connecting to Calahonda. It's a comfortable and economical alternative, ideal if we are staying in Motril or if we are passing through and don't want to worry about the car. The bus stops are usually conveniently located near the beach, making access to this magnificent destination even easier.
