How to Get to Playa de Las Azucenas

By Car

If you're coming by car, the A-7 highway (Autovía del Mediterráneo) is your best ally. Whether you're coming from Malaga or Almeria, you should take the exit towards Motril. Once in Motril, signs towards the port or the beach area will guide you directly. Playa de Las Azucenas is part of the extensive Playa de Poniente, and it's well signposted. You'll find several public parking areas nearby, some of them free, which is a great relief during high season. We always recommend arriving early if you want to secure a good spot, especially in July and August.

By Bus

For those who prefer public transport, Motril has a bus station that connects with the main Andalusian cities. Once at the Motril station, you can take a local bus that will drop you off very close to the beach. The lines that run through the beach area are frequent during the summer, making transportation much easier. It's a comfortable and economical option if you don't want to worry about parking.

From the Airport

The nearest airport is Granada-Jaén Airport (GRX), about 70 kilometers from Motril. From there, you can rent a car or take a bus to Granada station and then another bus to Motril. Another option is Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), which is about 100 kilometers away and has a greater offer of flights and car rentals. From Malaga, the journey along the A-7 is direct and very pleasant, following the coastline and offering us spectacular views of the Mediterranean.
