How to Get to Playa de Charco Verde

Getting to Playa de Charco Verde is a pleasant part of the adventure, and the journey itself offers a first captivating glimpse of the beautiful and varied Palmeran landscapes. If we are coming from Los Llanos de Aridane, the municipality to which this cove belongs, access is quite direct and well-signposted. We should take the road towards Puerto Naos, a well-known coastal tourist town. Before reaching Puerto Naos, we will find precise signs to turn off towards the beach, which will guide us along a secondary road. This road, although winding as is typical of the island's volcanic topography, is in excellent condition and gifts us with panoramic views of the extensive banana plantations covering the slopes, creating a vibrant green mosaic. It is a short and scenic trip, just 10-15 minutes by car from the heart of Los Llanos.

For those arriving from Santa Cruz de La Palma, the capital and main port of the island, the journey is a bit longer, approximately 40-50 minutes by car, depending on traffic. We will cross the island through the Cumbre tunnel or, if we prefer a more panoramic route, via the old Cumbre Vieja road, offering very different landscapes on each side, from the lushness of the east to the volcanic aridity of the west. If we land at La Palma Airport (SPC), the trip to the beach will also take about 30-40 minutes, making it an easily accessible destination upon our arrival. Once near the beach, we will find a designated and free parking area, which is a great advantage, as it allows us to park comfortably just a few meters from the sand. It is also possible to access by public transport, although the frequency of the 'guaguas' (buses) may be limited in this area, so we always recommend checking updated schedules to plan the trip in advance. Its waters are exceptionally calm, with minimal or non-existent waves, making it a perfect natural swimming pool. They are also incredibly clear, allowing excellent visibility of the seabed and displaying a color that ranges from azu
