How to Get to Playa de Mujeres

Getting to Playa de Mujeres is part of the adventure and, although it requires a little preparation, the reward is immense. If we are coming from Playa Blanca, the nearest tourist center, we have several options. The most common is by car. We must head east, following the signs towards the Papagayo Beaches. Access to this protected natural area is via a dirt track, for which a small fee per vehicle is charged, intended for the maintenance and conservation of the environment. It is important to drive carefully on this unpaved road, but don't worry, it is passable for any type of car.

We can also opt for a bicycle, an excellent way to enjoy the volcanic landscape surrounding the area. There are well-marked routes that take us from Playa Blanca to the Papagayo coves, and Playa de Mujeres is the first one we will find. For the more adventurous or those who prefer a relaxed stroll, it can be reached on foot from Playa Blanca, following a coastal path that offers spectacular views. The walk can take between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on our pace, and is a fantastic opportunity to stretch our legs and admire the coast.

Once we have arrived in the Papagayo area, Playa de Mujeres is easily identifiable. There is usually a nearby parking area, although it can fill up in high season.
