How to get to Playa de Piedra Paloma

Getting to Playa de Piedra Paloma is relatively easy, making it an accessible destination for most visitors in the province of Malaga. Its strategic location, close to important urban centers but sufficiently secluded to maintain its essence, is one of its great attractions. We always recommend the car as the most comfortable option to explore this area, as it will give you the freedom to move at your own pace and discover the charms of the surroundings.

From Malaga city or Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport

If you're coming from Malaga city or landing at the Airport, the journey is direct and pleasant. Take the A-7 motorway towards Algeciras/Cadiz. You should follow this motorway, which in some sections becomes the AP-7 (a toll road, with a parallel toll-free option, the A-7, which is slower but equally valid), passing through towns like Fuengirola, Marbella and Estepona. Once past Estepona, look for the exit towards Casares Costa or the Manilva area. The beach is located in the municipality of Casares, and you'll see clear signs towards the beach areas. The trip usually takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on traffic and whether you choose the toll motorway or the free motorway.

From Estepona or Sotogrande

If you're already staying in Estepona, the journey is really short, just about 10-15 minutes by car on the A-7 towards Algeciras. For those coming from the Sotogrande or Gibraltar area, the route is similar but in the opposite direction, towards Malaga, also on the A-7, and it will take you about 15-20 minutes.

Parking

One of the advantages of Playa de Piedra Paloma is that, although it doesn't have an underground or massive paid parking lot, it has free parking areas nearby. Normally, you'll find spaces along the access road or in small clearings near the 'chiringuitos' (beach bars). During the high season, especially on weekends in July and August, it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot, so we advise you to arrive early to secure a good place.
