How to Get to Playa de Bolnuevo

Getting to Playa de Bolnuevo is relatively easy and well signposted, which is always a plus when planning a getaway. If we're coming from inland Murcia or other provinces, the most comfortable way is by road. The A-7 motorway (Mediterranean Motorway) is the main artery, from which we'll take the exit towards the RM-332 heading to Mazarrón and then towards Bolnuevo.

Once in Bolnuevo, the beach is easy to locate. Access is direct and there are nearby parking areas, both free and, in high season, some paid ones managed by the town council, which makes our lives much easier when unloading our gear and starting to enjoy. During the summer months, parking can be more difficult, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. Furthermore, there are public transport options, with bus lines connecting Puerto de Mazarrón and the town of Mazarrón with Bolnuevo, allowing those without their own vehicle to comfortably access this paradise.

The Sand and Water

Playa de Bolnuevo welcomes us with an expanse of fine golden sand, incredibly pleasant underfoot. It's the kind of sand that invites you to walk barefoot, to lie down, and to let children play freely, building sandcastles or running around without danger. As for its waters, they are a true delight. We encounter a Mediterranean of blue and green hues, with a transparency that allows us to see the seabed clearly. Furthermore, we have showers to rinse off the salt and sand before heading home, and clean, accessible bathrooms/WCs, a service that is always appreciated.

For those seeking greater comfort, the beach has umbrella and sunbed rental points, which saves us from carrying our own equipment and allows us to enjoy a sunny day in complete comfort. And if hunger strikes, no problem: several chiringuitos (beach bars) dot the shoreline, offering everything from refreshments and ice cream to more elaborate meals, with fresh fish and typical dishes of the area. It's a delight to be able to have a bite with our feet in the sand and the sea in the background.

Although we cannot claim 'total accessibility' for all disabilities, Playa de Bolnuevo has made significant efforts in terms of accessibility, featuring ramps and walkways that facilitate access for people with reduced mobility, demonstrating its commitment to being an inclusive beach. Choosing the best time to visit Playa de Bolnuevo largely depends on our personal preferences regarding climate and crowd levels. We've been fortunate to enjoy it at different times of the year, and each season has its particular charm.
