How to get to Playa de El Mojón

Getting to Playa de El Mojón is relatively straightforward, whether you are coming from other parts of the Region of Murcia or from nearby provinces like Alicante. Its strategic location on the provincial border facilitates road access, making it a very convenient option for most visitors. We always recommend planning the route in advance, although the signage is usually clear.

Access by car

The most common way to get there is by car. From the Mediterranean Motorway (AP-7), we can take the exit towards San Pedro del Pinatar and follow the signs to the beaches. The N-332 coastal road will also take us directly to the area. Once in San Pedro del Pinatar, the signs to El Mojón are easy to follow. Near the beach, we will find parking areas, both free and paid, especially during the high season. Although they are not always right on the sand, the distance to the shore is minimal and the walk is pleasant.

Public transport

While the car is the most comfortable option, there are also public transport alternatives. Several intercity bus lines connect San Pedro del Pinatar with other towns in Murcia and Alicante. From the San Pedro del Pinatar bus station, we can take a taxi or, in the high season, perhaps a local line will take us even closer to the beach. However, for us, the flexibility offered by a private vehicle is unbeatable for exploring the area at our own pace.

The sand and water

When stepping onto Playa de El Mojón, the first thing we notice is the quality of its fine golden sand. It is a soft and pleasant-to-the-touch sand, perfect for walking barefoot or for children to build sandcastles effortlessly. The length of this sandy beach, approximately 460 meters, allows us to always find a comfortable spot to lay out our towel, even on the busiest days. We greatly appreciate the sense of space it offers, allowing us to enjoy the beach without excessive crowds.

The waters of Playa de El Mojón are, without a doubt, one of its greatest attractions. Of a crystal-clear blue color, they are characterized by their calmness and shallowness, especially near the shore. This feature makes it an exceptionally safe place for swimming, ideal for families with young children who can play in the water with complete peace of mind. The water temperature, typically Mediterranean, is very pleasant during the summer months and allows for long swims. We have seen how the water's clarity invites observation; although it is not an area of great underwater richness, the visibility is excellent for a simple dip or for children to start snorkeling with goggles.

The predominant type of seabed is sand, which facilitates both entering and exiting the sea, without the worry of uncomfortable rocks or pebbles. This uniformity of the seabed contributes to the feeling of safety and comfort that we so appreciate at this beach.
