How to Get to Playa de la Negra

Getting to Playa de la Negra is part of the adventure and charm of discovering such a special place. Located on the coast of Mazarrón, south of the famous Gredas de Bolnuevo and very close to the Calas de Bolnuevo, access requires a bit of attention, but the reward is well worth it. We recommend taking the RM-D14 road that connects Mazarrón with Bolnuevo and continuing south. Once past the Gredas de Bolnuevo, you should watch for signs or, more commonly, a turnoff or dirt track leading to the area's most secluded coves.

Car Access and Parking

The main access to Playa de la Negra is usually via a dirt track that branches off from the main road. This track, although passable with a normal car, may have some irregularities, so we recommend driving with caution. At the end of this track, or nearby, you'll find a natural space used as an informal parking area. Don't expect a paved and signposted parking lot; it's more of an area where vehicles can park without difficulty, respecting the natural environment. From this point, the beach is just a few meters away, accessible on foot.

Access on Foot

For hiking lovers, Playa de la Negra is also accessible on foot from other nearby coves or from Bolnuevo, via coastal trails that offer spectacular views. This option is ideal for those who want to combine a day at the beach with a walk in nature, enjoying the landscape and the sea breeze. It's important to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during the warmer months.

We always recommend that visitors come prepared, bringing everything they need for their day: water, food, sunscreen, towels, and, of course, a bag to collect all their waste and leave the beach as spotless as they found it. The only 'facility' we can mention is the informal parking nearby, which facilitates vehicle access.
