How to Get to Playa de Area da Secada

Getting to Playa de Area da Secada is part of the adventure and, at the same time, surprisingly simple. Illa de Arousa, to which this magnificent beach belongs, is connected to the mainland by a bridge almost two kilometers long, which greatly facilitates access. If you're coming by car, the most common route is to take the Atlantic Highway (AP-9) to the exit for Vilagarcía de Arousa or Sanxenxo/O Grove, and from there follow the signs to Illa de Arousa. Once on the island, the beach is well signposted and is located on the western part, near the Punta Cabalo lighthouse.

For those who prefer public transport, there are bus lines connecting Vilagarcía de Arousa with Illa de Arousa. From the bus stop in the island's center, you can reach the beach with a pleasant walk or by taking a taxi. Furthermore, Illa de Arousa is perfect for exploring by bicycle, and Playa de Area da Secada is a very accessible destination for cyclists, with bike lanes covering much of the coast.
