We are talking about Playa de Lagos, a small cove located in the picturesque municipality of Bueu, in the province of Pontevedra. Far from the hustle and bustle of other more crowded beaches, Lagos presents itself as a refuge of peace, a place where time seems to slow down and worries dissipate with the sea breeze.

How to Get to Playa de Lagos

Getting to Playa de Lagos is relatively straightforward, although its somewhat more secluded character helps maintain its charm and moderate attendance. If we are coming from Pontevedra, we will take the PO-551 road towards Marín and, subsequently, towards Bueu. Once in the municipality of Bueu, we will follow the signs towards the coast and the local beaches. Playa de Lagos is located on the coastal stretch connecting Bueu with the parish of Beluso, an area dotted with small coves and maritime landscapes.

Access by Car

The most comfortable way to get there is by private car. The beach has a nearby parking area, although it is not very large, so on days of high summer attendance it may be advisable to arrive early to secure a good spot. From the center of Bueu, the journey is just a few minutes, winding along local roads that already offer us the first views of the sea.

Public Transport

Although there are bus lines connecting Bueu with Pontevedra and other nearby towns, direct access to Playa de Lagos by public transport can be more limited. The most common option would be to take a bus to the center of Bueu and, from there, take a taxi or enjoy a pleasant walk if the weather permits and we are not carrying heavy loads. It is a walk that allows us to appreciate the coastal surroundings and the charming fishermen's houses of the area.

The Sand and the Water

One of the main attractions of Playa de Lagos is, without a doubt, the quality of its sand and the purity of its waters.

Fine Golden Sand

We are faced with a beach of fine sand, of a golden hue that shines under the Galician sun. The texture is soft and pleasant to the touch, perfect for walking barefoot, building sandcastles with children, or simply lying down to enjoy the warmth. It is clean, well-maintained sand that invites relaxation and play. Its composition and the natural protection of the cove make it a very comfortable beach, even for the little ones, who can run and play without worrying about stones or uneven ground.

Calm and Crystal-Clear Waters

The waters of Playa de Lagos are a true delight. Being sheltered within the Ría de Pontevedra, the beach benefits from gentle currents and practically non-existent waves, making it an exceptionally safe place for swimming. We have showers on the beach, a much-appreciated service for removing sand and salt from the body before returning home or continuing our day. It's a detail that adds comfort to our visit, especially after a good swim in the sea.

Parking

As already mentioned, there is a parking area near the beach. Although it is not excessively large, it is usually sufficient for the usual flow of visitors. It is a convenient parking lot that allows us to easily reach the sand, avoiding long walks with all our beach gear.

Lifeguard Service

During the high summer season, Playa de Lagos has a lifeguard service. This gives us great peace of mind, especially if we are with children, knowing that there are professionals watching over our safety in the water. It is a fundamental aspect that enhances the family-friendly and safe character of this cove.

Other Services

Although we do not find a great variety of beach bars or restaurants directly on the sand, the proximity to the center of Bueu ensures that we will have access to everything we need within a few minutes. In Bueu itself, we can find everything from supermarkets to pharmacies and a wide range of dining options to complement our beach day. The philosophy of Lagos is more about enjoying nature in its purest state, relying on the municipality's infrastructure for other needs.
