How to Get to Playa de Samil

Getting to Playa de Samil is relatively easy, given its status as an urban beach well integrated into Vigo's infrastructure. If we are coming from the city center, we have several options to suit our preferences and needs. The most comfortable and ecological way is, without a doubt, public transport.

By Bus

Several urban bus lines (Vitrasa) regularly connect Vigo's center with Samil. The most frequent and direct lines are L10 and L15 (in their different variants, such as L15A, L15C). The buses run with good frequency, especially in high season, and will drop us off directly on the beach promenade, eliminating parking worries. It is an ideal option to forget the car and enjoy the scenery from the very beginning.

By Car

If we prefer the flexibility of our own vehicle, Samil is accessible from Vigo's center in about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. We should take Avenida de Europa and follow the signs to the beach. For those coming from outside Vigo, the AP-9 highway connects us to the city, and from there, the signage to Samil is clear. However, finding parking at Playa de Samil can be a challenge, especially in the summer months and on weekends. There are paid parking zones along the promenade, but they tend to fill up quickly. There are also some adjacent streets where you can park for free, although they require a bit more patience to find a spot. Our recommendation is to arrive early if traveling by car in high season.

By Bicycle or Walking

For the more active, there is a pleasant bike lane that connects Vigo's center with Samil, offering a scenic ride along the coast. Walking or cycling is an excellent way to enjoy the journey and warm up before a refreshing swim at Playa de Samil.

The Sand and Water
