How to Get to Playa de Fañabé

Getting to Playa de Fañabé is surprisingly easy, given its excellent location and the area's infrastructure. For us, comfortable access is a key point when choosing a destination, and Fañabé more than delivers. If you arrive in Tenerife by plane, you will most likely land at Tenerife South Airport (TFS), which is about 20 kilometers away. From there, you have several options.

By Rental Car

Renting a car is one of the most popular and convenient ways to get around Tenerife, and it's what we usually recommend for exploring the island with total freedom. From the airport, the route is direct and well signposted: take the TF-1 motorway towards Los Cristianos/Adeje. The exit for Costa Adeje/Fañabé is clearly indicated, and in about 15-20 minutes you'll be at your destination. Around the beach, you'll find parking areas, both paid and some free options, although the latter are usually in high demand, especially during peak season. Investing in a car will allow you not only to get to the beach hassle-free but also to discover the island's hidden charms.

By Public Transport

Tenerife's bus network (known here as 'guaguas') is very efficient. From Tenerife South Airport, you can take line 40 or 111 heading to Costa Adeje or Los Cristianos and get off at one of the stops near Fañabé. There are several bus stops within a short walking distance of the beach, making access very easy for those who prefer not to drive. The frequencies are good, especially during the day, and it's an economical and ecological option for getting around. We advise you to check the schedules and routes on the Titsa website, the island's public transport company, to plan your journey in advance.

By Taxi or VTC

If you're looking for maximum comfort and speed, especially if you're traveling with a lot of luggage or with small children, a taxi or a chauffeur-driven vehicle (VTC) is an excellent alternative. You'll find taxi ranks right outside the airport, and the trip to Fañabé will cost around 25-30 euros, depending on traffic. It's a stress-free option that will drop you right at the door of your accommodation or near the beach, ready to start enjoying without delay.

Unlike other volcanic beaches with black sand, Fañabé offers that 'Caribbean beach' image that many seek on their holidays, but with the unmistakable charm of the Canary Atlantic.

But if the sand is a strong point, the water of Fañabé is not far behind. Its waters are notably calm and crystal clear, with a gentle swell that makes it perfect for swimming, even for the little ones or for those who don't feel comfortable in rougher waters. The underwater visibility is excellent, allowing you to observe small fish near the shore, adding a touch of natural charm. The water temperature, which remains pleasant all year round, invites you to take a dip in any season, offering a refreshing relief from Tenerife's tropical sun. We always recommend bringing snorkeling gear to appreciate the clarity and marine life close to the coast.
