How to Get to Playa de Glyfada

Getting to Playa de Glyfada is surprisingly simple, given its proximity to the capital. For us, coming from Athens, the options are varied and efficient, making it one of the most accessible Greece beaches.

By Public Transport

• Tram: One of the most picturesque and popular ways to get there is by tram. From Syntagma Square or the Neos Kosmos metro station, we can take line T6 or T3 (depending on the starting point) which takes us directly to Glyfada. The journey is pleasant, offering us views of the coast as we approach. The stops in Glyfada leave us just a few meters from the beach, which is ideal for those who prefer not to walk too much under the sun.
• Bus: Several bus lines connect downtown Athens with Glyfada. Although it can be a bit slower than the tram, it's an economical option and allows us to see more of the urban landscape.

By Car or Taxi

If we prefer comfort or are carrying a lot of luggage, a car or taxi are excellent alternatives. The journey from downtown Athens usually takes between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on traffic. In Glyfada, we'll find parking options, both on the street (some paid) and in private parking lots, although in high season it can be a challenge to find a spot. The coastal road is a visual delight, preparing us for the beach day that awaits.

• Showers and Toilets/WC: For our comfort, there are showers available to wash off the salt and sand after swimming, as well as clean and well-maintained toilets.
• Lifeguard Service: Safety is a priority. During the high season, the beach has lifeguard posts that monitor swimmers, giving us great peace of mind, especially if we're with children.
• Parking: Although it can be tricky during peak hours, there are parking options in the surrounding area, both free on the street and paid in designated lots.
