How to Get to Playa de Armenistis

Getting to Playa de Armenistis is part of the adventure and, fortunately, quite straightforward. This jewel is located on the eastern part of the Sithonia peninsula, the second 'leg' of Chalkidiki, about 120 kilometers southeast of Thessaloniki. The most comfortable and recommended way to get there is by car, whether your own or a rental. From Thessaloniki, the journey takes approximately two hours, depending on traffic and any stops we make to admire the landscape.

By Car

The road to Armenistis is a visual delight. We will drive on well-maintained roads that wind through hills covered in pines and olive trees, offering spectacular views of the Aegean Sea. Once in Sithonia, we follow the signs to Sarti or Vourvourou, and then to the Armenistis Camping, which is the main reference point for the beach. There are ample parking areas available, which makes arrival much easier, even in high season. Some of these parking lots may be paid, especially those closest to the beach entrance or managed by the beach bars, but the convenience they offer is well worth it.

Public Transport

Although the car is the most practical option, it is also possible to get there by bus. There are KTEL bus services from Thessaloniki to various villages in Sithonia, such as Nikiti or Sarti. However, from these villages, we would have to take a taxi or coordinate some other type of transport to get directly to the beach, as the nearest bus stop could be several kilometers away. We always advise using a car to have the freedom to explore the surroundings at our own pace and discover hidden coves or stunning viewpoints that we would otherwise miss.

The type of ground is predominantly sand, which makes it very comfortable and safe, especially for the little ones at home who can play without worrying about sharp rocks or pebbles. The width of the beach allows that, even on the busiest days, we can always find a space for ourselves, where we can spread our towel and feel the warmth of the sand under our feet.
