How to Get to Playa de Ermones

Getting to Playa de Ermones is part of the adventure and, fortunately, it is quite accessible. Located about 15 kilometers west of the city of Corfu (Kerkyra), the route by car is the most comfortable and popular option. We recommend renting a vehicle to have the freedom to explore not only the beach but also the charming surrounding villages and landscapes. The road, although with some curves typical of the island's orography, is well signposted and offers spectacular views as we descend towards the coast.

By Car

From Corfu town, we will take the road heading west, following the signs towards Vatos and then towards Ermones. The journey takes approximately 25-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Upon arrival, we will find several parking options, both paid and some more limited free areas, especially near the restaurants and hotels in the area. It is advisable to arrive early in high season to secure a good spot.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer not to drive, there is the option of local buses (Green Buses) connecting Corfu town with Ermones. The line that reaches this area is the one heading towards the west coast. Although the service is reliable, frequencies may be lower outside the high season, so it is recommended to check the schedules in advance. The bus stop is usually near the top of the beach, which involves a short walk downhill to the sand.

Other Means

It is also possible to arrive by taxi from Corfu town, which offers comfort but at a higher cost. For the more adventurous, a rented motorcycle or scooter can be an excellent option to travel the island's roads and enjoy the wind in your face as you head to this wonderful Greece beach.

The Sand and Water

On the shore, the proportion of pebbles tends to be higher, especially where the waves break gently, which contributes to the incredible clarity of the water by preventing the sand from constantly being stirred up. Further inland on the beach, the sand becomes more predominant, creating comfortable spaces to spread out a towel and enjoy the sun.
