How to Get to Playa de Klima

Getting to Playa de Klima is part of the adventure and allows us to appreciate the uniqueness of the island of Egina. The first step is to reach the island, which is easily done via the ferries that depart regularly from Piraeus port in Athens. The ferry ride is a pleasant experience in itself, offering us views of the Saronic Gulf and the sea breeze.

Once at Egina port (Egina Town), we have several options to get to Klima. The beach is located on the southwest coast of the island, near the charming village of Perdika.

• Taxi: For greater comfort, we can take a taxi directly from the port. It's a faster option and will drop us off as close as possible to the beach. The cost is reasonable and it's ideal if we have a lot of luggage or prefer speed.
• Rental Vehicle: Renting a car or a motorbike in Egina Town offers us maximum flexibility to explore the island at our own pace. With a vehicle, the journey to Klima is straightforward and well-signposted, and we'll have the freedom to discover other Egina beaches and nearby attractions.

Parking

For those who opt for a private or rental vehicle, parking at Playa de Klima is generally informal. We'll find spaces along the road that runs by the beach. It's advisable to arrive early during the high season to secure a good spot, although due to its size and more tranquil atmosphere, it's rarely a major problem.

The Sand and the Water

What immediately captivates us upon arriving at Playa de Klima is the combination of its sand and its waters. The type of sand here is mixed, a pleasant blend of fine sand and small, polished pebbles. Despite being an Egina beach with a more tranquil and natural atmosphere, Playa de Klima offers us the essential services to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay, without detracting from its authentic charm.

• Sunbeds and Umbrellas: During the high season, it's common to find areas where we can rent umbrellas and comfortable sunbeds. This allows us to enjoy the Greek sun without worries, knowing we have a shady refuge when we need it. It's a convenience we greatly appreciate for spending long hours relaxing by the sea.
• Chiringuitos / Tavernas: Although there are no large tourist complexes, the proximity to Perdika and the presence of a taverna or chiringuito in the vicinity of the beach means we won't have to go far to enjoy a cold drink, a Greek coffee, or even a delicious lunch. These small tavernas usually offer authentic local cuisine and fresh seafood, which perfectly complements a day at the beach.
