From Mykonos Town (Chora), the journey by car, motorbike, or ATV (quad) takes approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic and our driving skill. The route is well-signposted and takes us through typically Cycladic landscapes, with arid hills dotted with whitewashed houses and panoramic views of the Aegean Sea that prepare us for the beauty awaiting us. The road to the beach is mostly paved, with a final well-maintained dirt section leading directly to the beach bar parking areas and a more informal public parking area. Currently, there is no direct and regular bus line that reaches Playa de Panormos. The public buses in Mykonos usually cover routes to the more popular beaches in the south of the island (such as Platys Gialos, Psarou, or Paradise) and to the inland village of Ano Mera. Therefore, if we rely exclusively on public transport, this beach could be less accessible. This particularity, although it may seem an inconvenience, helps maintain the semi-virgin and exclusive character of Panormos, differentiating it from other Mykonos beaches with greater mass influx. If your goal is relaxation, a small effort in transportation will be worth it.
