How to Get to Playa de Levrechio

Getting to Playa de Levrechio is part of the adventure and charm of Paxos. The island is small, which makes getting around easy, but its roads, although picturesque, can be narrow and winding. We always recommend renting a small car, a scooter, or even a quad to explore Paxos at your own pace. From Gaios, the island's capital, the drive to Levrechio is about 10-15 minutes, following the coastal road north towards Loggos. From Lakka or Loggos, the journey is even shorter, about 5-10 minutes.

Transport Options

• Car/Scooter/Quad: This is the most common and flexible way. There is an informal parking area right above the beach, in the shade of the olive trees. Although it's not an official parking lot, there is usually enough space, except in mid-August. From there, a short path will take you directly to the shore.
• Taxi: You can take a taxi from any of the main villages in Paxos. It's a comfortable option if you prefer not to drive.
• Local Bus: There is a bus service connecting Gaios, Lakka, and Loggos, but it doesn't have a direct stop at the beach. You would need to get off in Loggos and walk a stretch, which could be a pleasant but somewhat long walk under the sun.
• On Foot: If you are staying near Loggos, Playa de Levrechio is accessible on foot. It's a charming walk through olive groves, but be sure to wear good shoes and carry water, especially in summer.
• Boat: Some people choose to arrive by boat, either their own or rented. The calm waters of the cove are perfect for anchoring and enjoying the beach from a different perspective. It's an excellent option to combine with an excursion to the caves or the beaches of Antipaxos.

The Sand and Water

But if the pebbles are beautiful, the water is simply spectacular. The waters of Levrechio are famous for their crystal-clear transparency and dazzling turquoise blue color. The visibility is exceptional, making it a paradise for snorkeling lovers. Even without goggles, you'll be able to see small fish swimming near the shore and interesting rock formations on the bottom. The entry into the sea is gentle and gradual, making it very safe for swimming. The water temperature, especially in the summer months, is delightfully warm and refreshing at the same time, inviting us to spend hours immersed in its embrace. It's no wonder many consider Levrechio one of the best Paxos beaches for an unforgettable swim.

Services and Facilities

Despite its quiet and natural atmosphere, Playa de Levrechio offers some services that make it very comfortable for spending the day. We greatly appreciate the balance achieved here: enough amenities to not feel isolated, but without the crowds or noise of other more commercial beaches. The crown jewel in terms of services is, without a doubt, the famous Taverna de Levrechio, often known as Ben's Bar. Located right above the beach, it offers spectacular views and is the ideal place to enjoy a traditional Greek meal, a refreshment, or a coffee. Its menu usually includes fresh dishes, from Greek salads to grilled fish, all prepared with local ingredients.

• Chiringuitos/Taverna: The Taverna de Levrechio is the social heart of the beach. Here you can rent umbrellas and sunbeds for greater comfort. We often spend hours on its terrace, enjoying the food and relaxed atmosphere.
