How to Get to Playa de Potos

Getting to Playa de Potos is relatively easy, given its popularity and excellent location in the south of the island of Thassos. We always recommend renting a car to explore the island at your own pace, and Potos is an excellent starting point for that. From the main port of Limenas (the capital of Thassos), the distance is approximately 45 kilometers, which translates into a journey of about 50 minutes to 1 hour by car, depending on traffic and any stops you make to admire the landscape.

If you arrive in Thassos via the port of Skala Prinos, the journey is a bit shorter, around 30 kilometers, which takes about 35-40 minutes. The roads in Thassos are usually in good condition, although they can be a bit winding in some mountainous areas. Once you approach Potos, you will find clear signs and several parking options, both free on adjacent streets and paid in private parking lots, especially during high season.

For those who prefer not to drive, there are public buses from the KTEL Thassos company that connect Potos with Limenas and other important villages on the island. The schedules are quite regular during the summer, although it is always advisable to check them in advance. Taxis are also a comfortable, though more expensive, option to get directly to the beach from any point on the island. Whatever your choice, the trip to Playa de Potos is part of the adventure and offers spectacular views of the island landscape.

The Sand and the Water

Playa de Potos captivates us with the quality of its sand and the transparency of its waters, elements that make it so attractive to all visitors. It's a pleasure to be able to enjoy a coffee or a cocktail without having to go far from the shore.

In Potos, we find showers to rinse off the salt and sand after swimming, as well as clean and well-maintained changing rooms and toilets/WCs in most establishments.
