How to Get to Playa de Lethra

From Livadia, the path to Lethra begins at the southern end of the promenade, where a well-marked trail heads into the coast. The walk is relatively easy, although it requires comfortable and appropriate footwear, as the terrain is uneven and rocky in some sections. During the journey, which usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes, we will be rewarded with spectacular panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and the rocky coast of Tilos. The trail winds through Mediterranean vegetation, offering elevated points perfect for capturing impressive photographs and for simply stopping to contemplate the vast blue expanse.

Although the path is not particularly difficult, we must consider that it is exposed to the sun, so it is crucial to bring water, sunscreen, and a hat, especially if we travel during the warmer summer months. For the more adventurous, there is the possibility of accessing Playa de Lethra by water taxi from Livadia, an option that, while faster, deprives us of the immersive experience of the coastal walk. However, it can be an excellent alternative if we prefer to save energy or if we are traveling with young children who might tire from the walk. For us, the water quality at Playa de Lethra is one of its greatest attractions; it is pure, clean, and perfect for swimming, diving, and simply floating, letting ourselves be carried away by the calm of the Mediterranean.
