How to Get to Playa Icacos

The privileged location of Playa Icacos makes it a very easily accessible destination. This accessibility is, without a doubt, one of its great advantages, allowing us to maximize our time enjoying the sand and sea.

From the Airport

If we arrive in Acapulco by air, we will land at General Juan N. Álvarez International Airport (ACA), located about 25-30 kilometers southeast of the Golden Zone. From there, we can take an authorized airport taxi, hire a private transportation service, or use ride-sharing platforms. The journey usually takes between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on traffic, and will take us directly to the Costera, where Playa Icacos is located.

By Private or Rental Car

For those who prefer the freedom of traveling by car, getting to Playa Icacos is very intuitive. We just need to follow Costera Miguel Alemán towards the Golden Zone. Along this avenue, we will find several entrances and accesses to the beach, as well as options for public and private parking on the surrounding streets or in the parking lots of nearby hotels and shopping centers. Although traffic can be heavy during high season, the signage is clear and will guide us without problems.

Public Transport and Taxis

Taxis are an abundant and relatively inexpensive option in Acapulco. We can hail one anywhere in the city and ask to be taken to Playa Icacos. It is advisable to agree on the price before starting the trip. Additionally, Costera Miguel Alemán has an efficient local bus service that runs the entire length of the avenue. These buses are a very cheap way to get to the beach, and we just need to ask the driver if their route passes through the Icacos area. It is an excellent option for a more local and economical experience.
