How to Get to Playa Gaviotas

Getting to Playa Gaviotas is extremely easy, as Mazatlán has excellent transportation infrastructure that facilitates access from anywhere. If you're traveling by plane, the Mazatlán International Airport (MZT), known as General Rafael Buelna Airport, receives domestic and international flights. From there, the journey to the Golden Zone, where our beach is located, takes approximately 30-40 minutes by taxi, Uber, or the airport's collective transport services. We always recommend booking a transfer in advance for greater comfort, especially if you arrive with a lot of luggage.

For those who prefer the highway, Mazatlán is very well connected via Federal Highway 15 and the modern Mazatlán-Durango highway, which offers impressive landscapes. It's a popular destination for road trips from cities like Guadalajara, Culiacán, or Durango. Bus companies like ETN and Primera Plus also offer luxury and first-class services with routes to Mazatlán from the country's main cities, dropping passengers off at the Central de Autobuses, from where a short taxi or Uber ride will take you directly to Playa Gaviotas.

Once in Mazatlán, getting around the city is an experience in itself. From the Historic Center or any other point, you can take a traditional taxi, use ride-hailing apps like Uber, or hop on the iconic pulmonías —those open-air golf cart-type vehicles that are a symbol of Mazatlán and offer a fun and breezy ride—.
