How to Get to Playa Miramar

Getting to Playa Miramar is a fundamental part of the adventure and, fortunately, there are several options to do so. Located a short distance from the port city of Guaymas, in the state of Sonora, its accessibility is one of its great advantages. We recommend planning the trip in advance to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience.

By Plane

For international travelers or those coming from distant states in Mexico, the most practical option is to fly. The nearest airports are:

• General Ignacio Pesqueira García International Airport (HMO) in Hermosillo, the capital of the state of Sonora. From Hermosillo, Playa Miramar is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours away by car. We have found that renting a car here is the most comfortable option, as it allows for exploring the surroundings with total freedom.
• Ciudad Obregón International Airport (CEN). Although a bit further south, it is also a viable alternative, with a car journey of approximately 1.5 hours to our destination.

By Car

If you prefer the road, Playa Miramar is accessible via Federal Highway 15, a well-maintained road that runs along the Mexican Pacific coast. For those traveling from the US border, for example, from Arizona, the route is direct and offers fascinating desert landscapes that contrast with the blue of the sea. Driving on this highway is an experience in itself, allowing us to appreciate the vast Sonoran geography. From Guaymas, access to Playa Miramar is very simple, following the signs leading to the Miramar hotel and residential area. The journey is short, about 15 to 20 minutes, and drops us off directly in this coastal paradise.

Local Transport

Once in Guaymas, getting to Playa Miramar is a matter of a short taxi ride or a colectivo (local public transport). Taxis are plentiful and relatively inexpensive, and colectivos offer an even more economical option for moving between the city and the beach. We always recommend agreeing on the fare with the taxi driver before starting the trip, to avoid surprises. The ease of access contributes to making Playa Miramar such an attractive destination for all types of travelers, from families to couples looking for a romantic escape.
