How to Get to Praia da Figueira

Generally, it is accessed via Ilha de Faro, which is connected to the mainland by a bridge. From the center of Faro, the most common way is to take bus number 14 or 16, which will take you directly to the main area of Praia de Faro. Once there, to reach the quieter, more natural area we identify as Praia da Figueira, you will have to walk a bit further east, away from the beach bars and the more urbanized zone. This walk, although short, already immerses you in a landscape of dunes and coastal vegetation, hinting at the tranquility that awaits.

If you prefer the comfort of your own vehicle, you can drive to Ilha de Faro. There are Parking areas available, especially at the ends of the main beach. From there, the same walk east will guide you to this more serene corner. It is important to consider that, being a more natural and less developed area, direct car access to the specific 'Praia da Figueira' may be limited or non-existent, so the combination of car and a walk is the most recommended to preserve its wild state. For the more adventurous, renting a bicycle in Faro can be an excellent option, allowing you to explore the island at your own pace and reach this hidden paradise easily, enjoying the fresh air and panoramic views of the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

However, being adjacent to the main Praia de Faro, you can access some services by walking a reasonable distance. The Lifeguard service is usually present in the busier area of Praia de Faro during the high season, so, although there is no specific post at 'Praia da Figueira', the proximity offers a measure of safety. Parking is accessible in the designated areas of Ilha de Faro, from where you access on foot. For showers or public toilets, you will have to move to the more central areas of the main beach. Our recommendation is to come prepared, with your own towels, umbrella, and provisions, to fully enjoy the peace this corner offers.
